So ABC News released this article about 'white' names and 'black' names, and how different employers will hire you if you have a 'white sounding name'. Here is an excerpt of the article
The resumes with the white-sounding names were actually downloaded 17 percent more often by job recruiters than the resumes with black-sounding names.
So, for the information of these present, here is a list of the top 'black' sounding names, and the 'white'. As you can see, my name is at the top of the 'black.' That's why women and people who's names might be non-traditionally 'white' should always put their first initial and their last name on resumes. It keeps an air of ambiguosity about your sex and race. Enjoy!
